My great-grandfather, James Joseph Coston, b. April 4, 1832,was John Coston, MD's younger brother. James Joseph married Mary Melinda Smith and they had 4 children - Laura F. Joseph Tribal,James B. and my grandfather Hamilton Ralls, b. Aug. 24, 1866. He and his wife, Roseanna M. Caughran (many spellings) had 7 or 8 children. My father, the youngest, was born in 1909 in Birmingham, Alabama. I also have letters between my father and Cecil Coston tracing kinship.

I would like to trace the Caughran (Cochran?) branch, and get more information about John Coston, who was the father of John, MD and James Joseph. His wife was Margaret Baxter.
