Mr. Guthrie, thank you for your message. I do not know to which inquiry you are replying, having placed so many. However, yours is the first clue I have received. My only reference is to my great, great grandparents Selenah Ann Costen (?) and William Garvin's beautiful family bible that came down to me through their daughter, Emma Laura Garvin, my great grandmother, and then my grandmother and mother. So I feel most fortunate to have it. However, Selenah's surname is really not very ledgible. So I am sorry I have nothing to offer you with Costen info. However, it came to me through records at the University of Georgia Colonial Records that the original spelling could possibly have been
Causton. Have you considered that? The census takers or other recorders may have spelled it phoenetically. Do you have any reference to Selenah or Lena? My new web address is Thanks again. Virginia
