Family legend has Ebebezer bvorn in Essex, but I have been unable to document that fact. I believe that his father was SWilliam Coston, from Shropshire, who was ordered transported from England in 1642. Again, no substantial evidence. So I start the family line with Ebenezer, who served in the French and Indian War under Col. (then Capt.) Goffe. Ebenezer's daughter, Betsey, married Goffs's son John.
