Jim
I have been told by another Cothron that all the many spellings of Cothron are all the same family. he did considerable research on the name. He told me that he would give me a copy but to wait until he got a little more. He died and I could never get the information from his family. Raymond, my husband told me that when he was a young man tha the family got together and voted on whether to spell it Cothron or Cothran . They had been spelling it Cothran. The vote was to spell it Cothron. Dorothy, Raymond's older sister never stopped spelling it with an A. I have C.C. and Alex father as William Joseph Cothron. I have W.J. father as Alexander Cothron. That's as far back as I have been able to get. Let me know if you have any earlier ancesters.

Jean
