I have a James Cottam b. caa. 1759 in Chipping, Lancashire, England. Emigrated to Nova Scotia, Canada where he married Mary Wilson, (daughter of Thomas Wilson and Mary McDormand) and had 14 Children (Poor Mary).
Children were:
(1)Mary Cottam b. 8 March 1790 in Lower Onslow, Nova Scotia m. Alexander Deyarmond 15 March 1815, died 13 Aug. 1859.
(2) Nancy Cottam b. 2 Sept. 1792 m. Thomas Deyarmond 1 Jan. 1813 d. Unknown.
(3) Jane Cottam b. 22 Feb 1793 d. May 1859 m. 14 Nov. 1811 Hant Hamilton (My ancestors).
(4) James Cottam b. 29 Nov. 1794 in Lower Onslow, NS, d. unknown, m Esther Slack 24 Nov. 18?? (posibly 22 - can't read my own writing).
(5) Thomas Cottam b. 27 Oct 1796 in Lower Onslow, NS, m Jane or Jenny Baird on 3 Feb. 1825, d. unknown.
(6) Susan Cottam b. 8 June 1798 in Lower Onslow, NS m. Robert Main.
(7) John Cottam b. 6 Dec. 1799 in Lower Onslow, NS, m. Anne Church on 14 Feb 1823.
(8) William Cottam b. 29 Aug. 1801 in Lower Onslow, m. Nancy or Agnes Baird in Jan. 1830, d. 1 Oct. 1836.
(9) Sarah Cottam b. 7 Sept. 1803 in Lower Onslow, NS m. Anthony Peppard.
(10)Joseph Cottam, b. 11 March 1806 in Lower Onslow, m. Margaret Church 29 Oct. 1829, d. Unknown.
(11)Robert Cottam, b. 19 March 1808.
(12)Betsy Cottam, b. 10 Jan. 1811, m. 5 Jan. 1835 to James Fleming, d. Unknown.
