I know nothing of this family history, but if Pierre Coupal dit Lareine, came from near Limoges, this was only about 175 km from the major seaport of La Rochelle, a major point of embarcation from France to the New World.

I have a question - Pierre was a member of the "Compagnie de Ramezay" in the very late 17th century, this was around 1700. The oldest historic building in Montréal is the Château de Ramezay, built 1705. Is this correct ?
