hello Sharon,My grandfathers name was Richard Course...His wife(my grandmother)was Edith Amelia(nee Taylor)they had 3 children...Stanley,George(my father)and Joyce.He does have a book somewhere about the whole derivation of the Course name etc..we are going to hunt it out and read up on it...Also seems ironic that my grandfather and grandmother were both shop keepers,i'll get back to you all as soon as i can...please watch this space :-)Diane Street (nee Course)ps Sharon that was really cool of you to keep your maiden name,i never thought of that when i got married,it is still quite unusal here also.
