Here's another question I was wondering about. In my notes:
Emigrants and Early Settlers In Maryland.
Liber R & Q, Section 29, Page 183:
"Henry Coursey, demands land on the Eastern Shore, for transportation of this service, viz; Mary Coursey, his wife, Thomas Walton, Edward Dexter, Robert Pierce, Elizabeth Langford, Jane Kirkley, Mary Cole (alias Brainson), John Mulberry, John Terrick, Thomas Foster, Ann Fordum, William Lidle, David Match, (viz) 100 acres per Pole, 1653."
--I need better date & ref for this transport record, if available.
So I think this Henry Coursey was James Corse's brother - of "Lord's Gift", Queen Anne's County, Maryland. So what happened to his wife Mary (named in above transport record) and did she have any of his children? This one's especially interesting to me, since Araminta Coursey, daughter of this Henry Coursey's son Henry (1662-1707 whose wife was Elizabeth Desmyniers), was married several times in Cecil Co. MD.
Do you know who was "Mary" listed in 1653 transport record? She may have died before then --transport record "demands land" which means he was finally cashing in his transport certificate, that he could have been holding for some time.
What became of Mary?? Did she have any children with Henry Coursey?
Thanks again!
