Recent visit to Brown County, Ohio Recorder's Office revealed Robert Covert in 1851 bought 41 acres, 1 rod, 5 poles on Ellis Run Rd for $700.00 from Thomas Simpson per Deed Book A-26 page 609. Robert passed away in 1877. Between 1877 and 1879 five of the sibling heirs sell their one-seventh share of this property to brother George W. Covert and sister Nancy Covert per Deed Book I-60 pages 593, 594, and 595. The five heirs listed who sold their shares were John Covert of Jefferson County, Illinois; Elizabeth Cooper and her husband Granville of Brown County; William Covert of Adams County; Mary Jane Spires of Adams County; and Simon and his wife Sabina of Brown County. (William, Mary Jane, and Simon and his wife Sabina are listed together as William Covert et al to George W. Covert and Nancy Covert on page 595 of Deed Book I-60).
Now trying to prove Martin Cobert (Covert) living in Huntington Township, Brown County in 1830 per Census and
age 70-80 is the father of Robert Covert who was living in Sprigg Township, Adams County in 1830 per Census. Also trying to prove Tilman Covert living in Huntington Township, Brown County and Larkin Covert (not Tilman's son Larkin) living in Sprigg Township, Adams County in 1840 Census are Robert Covert's younger brothers.
