Covert of New Athens, Ohio?

Joseph(?) Covert was an American soldier in War of Independence born in Germany and said to have fought alongside his son, Morris(?) Covert in American revolution, though he may not have married the boy's mother, Jane Custer (Kuster), daughter of Hessian officer Peter(?) Kuster until 1777, so his son may have been too young;or, perhaps they were previously married in Germany?

Morris(?) Covert married circa 1805 near what was later to be Union, PA to Nancy Boyer from Holland, and, fought under Capt. "Ten" Eyck in War of 1812-15 alongside his comrade named Brokaw, with whom, he later founded the township of New Athens, Ohio.
