Please contact me, I have considerable information you will be interested in concerning Drucilla and "Deacon" Jonathan Covell/Covill/Covel/Covil/Coville. Below are my "notes" on Jonathan.
Christened 2-26-1750 in Killingly Church. He served in the 14th and 16th Regt's of the Albany County Militia in Rev. War. Army records state he was born in Dover, MA.At the time of his marriage to Patience he was listed as living in Salem and referred to as "Deacon Jonathan Covel". He settled in Hartford, NY in the 1780's. appointed a fence viewer at first town meeting in 1794 and was later Comm. of Highways. Will was probated 10-15-1831, Patience listed as wife, assets listed as one cow, one feather bed and table linen. Son William given $1.00. Other children listed were James, Sarah Cummins and Polly Townsend, possibily a granddaughter? Cem. stone states" In memory of Jonathan Covell, July 21, 1831.
Probated Will spells his name as Jonathan Covill.
