It looks though I am the first on this board!!
John Cowieson and Jane Burr married at Fyvie, Aberddenshire in 1832. They migrated with their 4 children to Ontario in 1842 and settled at East Gwillimbury in York County where they had at least 4 more children.
There are a number of trees on Rootsweb which mention some members of the family. I have used the information in those trees as a guide to further research in the Canadian censuses and Ontario marriage lists. I now have afair picture of the family up to the early 1900s.
I am keen to hear from anyone who knows anything about this family. They were the only Cowiesons at East Gwillimbury (and one son moved to Fenelon in Victoria County).
