Isaac Coxon, Normanton, Derbyshire, 1881

I'm looking for information on the Coxon family that lived in Normanton Derbyshire in 1881. From the 1881 census the family lived at The Village Street Wheelwright Shop and House. Isaac Coxon (Joiner & carpenter, age 48) was head of the family and a widower. The children were William (Joiner, 25), George (Railway clerk, 21), Peter (Railway clerk, 19), Annie (Housekeeper, 19) and Fanny (Scholar, 10). Peter and Annie were twins. Isaac's birthplace was entered as Alvaston, Derby.

Peter (middle name James) was my great-grandfather and was born on 28 Sep 1861. From his birth certificate his mothers name was Mary (formerly Cowpe or Cowper) and he was born at 50 Oxford Street Litchurch. He married Ellen Moran in 1883 just before being shipped to India where he served in the British Army with the 7th Dragoon Guards.

If anyone has any information on any of these people, I'd love to get in touch and swap information!

Heather Johnson
