Hello David,

What a co-incidence the Rev.John COXON baptising Mary Thompson and being the same name as her husband.
He died very shortly after baptising her, just over two months later:-

Nov.24th.1787 Died. Thursday se'nnight, the Rev.MR.COXON, Rector of Sunderland.

He also had a son named John!
