Elgy is my grandfather's uncle. He and George Oscar were two of ten children belonging to Christian Valentine Cramberg and Mary Ann Wiesenborn who were originally from Neiderdorla Prussia. Christian was 17 yrs old in 1852 and a passenger on the Uhland sailing from Bremen, Germany through the port at New Orleans. His original destination was Missouri. The spelling of the name was Kremberg. Other family arrived from Germany but I have not researched further. Cramberg and Kramberg are the same family but the spelling helped keep the mail straight. My mom has a copy of a photo taken of the family in the late 1800's and I have a worn copy of Christian's naturalization document. This is the history as far as I know. Have you found anything in your research?
