It seems that the name Crandall/Crandell, even Crundle, is quite rare in England today and has been rare for the past several centuries.The name of the parish, "Westerleigh" (also spelled Westerley and Westerly), is certainly most provocative, and is very good circumstantial evidence that this is "our Elder John", since Elder John Crandall of Rhode Island was one of the original settlers of WESTERLY, RHODE ISLAND in 1661.
