This is what John Courtland Crandall says:
"821 NELSON CRANDALL of Youngstown,O; son of Israel and Pamelia (Cook) Crandall,b.in Sherburn,N.Y. 4.Jan. 1826; was living in Sherburn,N.Y. in 1891; m. in Youngstown on 18 Feb. 1851 to Sarah Stambough.
Note: At 11 years of age, Nelson went to Youngstown as a bookkeeper.
Julia, b. 22 July 1852;d 19 Dec. 1854
James Ford,b. 5 Jan. 1856
Arabelle, b. 5 Jan. 1863
Charles N. b. 4 Aug. 1870:
Note: All above four children resided in Youngstown, O. in 1891 and were unmarried."
