In searching my Crandall Family lineage I ran across a glitch in the JCC book. My mother Lona Mae Crandall is listed in the JCC Book on page 648. It is lona Mae not Lona Mary. She is the daughter of Samuel Morse Crandall, JCC# 3992. This is correct and Samuel Morse Crandall is the son of James B. Crandall. However not the James B. Crandall, JCC# 3479, that is reported to be the son of Dewitt Clinton Crandall, JCC# 2477, on page 459. In fact on page 584 of JCC where James Burton Crandall is described the notes state that JBC, #3479, is born in 1845 , married to Maria and their first child, Samuel, is born in 1861 when JBC is 16. The author, JCC, states that he is not positive of this connection. Instead I have found that James Crandall the father of Samuel Morse Crandall JCC# 3992 is actually James Crandall JCC#908, the son of Azariah Crandall JCC#348. This James Crandall, JCC#908, is born in 1816 to Azariah and Sarah Smallwood. He then marries a Maria Cooley abt. 1820. These two and their children including Samuel Morse Crandall are described in the 1850, 1860 and 1870 Census for Lafayette, Walworth Co. WI. Samuel Crandall age 8, born in WI, is first listed in the 1870 family census list.

In essence my descendants as listed in the JCC Book are incorrect past my great grandfather. I should be related as follows: (my mother, Lona Mae, Samuel Morse, James Burton, Azariah, Azariah, Samuel, Eber, Elder John) and NOT (my mother, Lona Mae, Samuel Morse, James Burton, Dewitt Clinton, Dea. Joel, Ezra, Nathan, John, John, Rev. Joseph, Elder John

If anyone is editing the JCC book, I hope they will take notice and make corrections where they are needed. I would be happy to make 2 to 3 generation additions to the above line if they would be welcome.

I hope this will clarify the records a little for others.
