Joan Cranfield b. 1552 in Little Munden, Hertfordshire, England, died October 29, 1640 in Watton-at-Stone, Hertfordshire, England. her father was William Cranfield b. 1530 in Watton-at-Stone, Hertfordshire, England, died November 05, 1614 in Watton-at-Stone, Hertfordshire, England. Her siblings were: Thomas, Denise, John, and William.

Thomas Kirby b. bet. 1520 - 1525 in Standon, Hertfordshire, England, died about November 14, 1573 in Standon, Hertfordshire, England. He married Joan Smythe July 22, 1548 in Therfirld, Hertfordshire, England. Children were: Thomas, Alice, John, Katherine, Elizabeth, Agnes, John, Henry, Rose, Margaret, and Nicholas.

Thomas's father, Nicholas Kirby was b. 1487 in Standon, Hertfordshire, England, died Bet. July - August 1555 at same location. Wife's name was Joan. Children were: John, Isabell, Rose, Ellen, Thomas, and George.

Nicholas's father was John Kyrkeby b. 1445 in Standon, Hertfordshire, England, died January 22, 1522. Wife's name was Rose. Children were Elyne, Katherine, John, Margaret, Michael, and Nicholas.

A good source of Kirby information is a book called "The Kirby's of New England" by Melatiah Everett Dwight published in 1898. It dosen't take you back to John Kyrkeby but does have a weath of information on later Kirby lines. Your local library should be able to get a copy.
