The question about Belton has come up from time to time with family members. There is a Eugene Belton Hogan IV (and that was 20 years ago). He probably has a Eugene Belton Hogan V by now.
As far as I know, none of the Hogans, Crankfields, etc are connected to the Beltons. I got the idea somewhere along the line that there was a 19th century preacher or politician by that name who was esteemed, and that is how it got adopted. But that is just speculation.
