thanks for the email re 3/04/2001 I didn't know that my grandfather was born in Chestertonbut you have us correctly I have been in touch with my father's cousin in Toronto ,and the father of Frederick Reginald was John Steads Cranfield who was the gateman at Girton College His first wife died in childbirth around 1890 she came from Croesiceilog a small village outside Carmarthen and is buried in the churchyard there she was home sick in Cambridge and they came to Swansea where John became the Vicar of Morriston's coachmanHe remarried a widow a Mrs Bevan who had two children and by her they had two more Hesta Harriet,and John.John Steads died around 1942and is buried in Morriston Cemetery.
Frederick Reginald ,my grandfather was born on the 1st.November 1886 but the other details are correct.I was born on the 02/03/1948 in Swansea and am living in Newport
