Dear Margie: your question is a lot more complicated than it seems. The William Creath, Sr. who was in Madison County, KY never was in Nova Scotia. He came, apparently, to Virginia first from Antrim County, Ireland and then moved to Madison County, KY and died their about 1808. This William Creath was married to a Jane Martin, not a Betsy Reed.William had a son named George Creath, but he also had a son name William, Jr. who in turn had a son named George Creath who happens to be the ancestoral line of my wife's.There was a William Creath who was born to Samuel Creath on board ship to Nova Scotia. This William Creath also had a son named George. So there are a lot of William Creaths and George Creaths involved here. The business about Robert Creath goes back to a Power of Attorney issued by William Creath of Madison Co., Ky to a lawyer back in Ballamoney, Ireland to settle the estate of one Robert Creath.I have had extensive research done over in Ireland trying to find out something about this Robert Creath and came up blank. There just are hardly any records available for that day and time over there.Whether Robert was William's father or not is pure conjecture as there is nothing to prove it one way or another.I'd need to know a bit more about this George Creath to know which one you are looking for before I might be able to steer you in the right direction.
