Hi Gill: I was reading the Crewdsons Family Message Board and decided to respond. I don't know if there is any connection between yours and Gail's Crewdsons and my Crewdsons. I will list my family name and see what you can come up with. My Great Grandfather was Robert S. Crewdson, born 9/7/1873. He had a brother John Thomas, born 11/26/1871. They were born in Ulverston,Eng. Robert married a Bessie Whittaker (married in England), had 1 daughter, Annie. They emigrated to America in 1910 with a Henry and Harry Crewdson, and settled in or around Marcus Hook, PA. They were responsible for the operation of the American Viscose Plant in Marcus Hook in the year 1910. I have obtained quite a bit of information on the Crewdson line through a 3 times removed cousin who has informed me that there is quite a few Crewdsons in the U.S. as well as in Ulverston, Eng. In case you didn't know, there was also another spelling of Crewdson in Ulverston, which was spelled as Crowdson. My cousin had sent me a brief history of our particular lineage. I am sure that I have wetted your curiousity about this name, and I hope to pass this info on to Gail also. If you would like to learn more, please contact me at dtrianni@nycap.rr.com and I will try to give you more info. Perhaps we are all connected through various bloodlines. I am trying to find out more information about my great grandmother whose maiden name was Whittaker. I too like you am searching for new leads. I hope you are interested enough to contact me. I look forward to "hearing" from you. Dotty
