I recently bought a book that has some very similar history as to the William Crewdson you have mentioned. Also his signature, as he gave this book to his son-in-law a W.O. Froggatt. And I have a newspaper clipping of the obit for Marilda Gammon Crewdson. William it says in the book was born on 9-22-1853 in Atchinson Co. Mo.
