Crilley and Sullivan of Glenarm area
I am trying to help someone make a Crilly/Sullivan connection in the area of Glenarm and Larne. This is the information they gave me, any and all responses will be useful.
I have my father and my mother's marriage certificate. Her father
is recorded as Bernard Sullivan, Seaman. Her age is recorded as 24 1/2
years. They were married on 31 October 1924.This means that she was born
about 1901. I was in Larne this year doing some research on my father's
side of the family. I called in on the Parish Priest and he let me look
at the Church records. I checked all the records that I could and some
that I already knew, but I checked to make sure that they were correct.
In addition to what was on my parent's marriage certificate, the church
records said that her mother's name was M.E. Crilley, and that she came
from Glenarm. I have been looking for a connection between Sullivan and
Crilley without much luck. As I have temporaliry come to a halt whith
my father's side I decided to start on my mother's side. I sent away for
her birth certificate and when it came back she was born on 5th April
1901 in the Larne Workhouse. Her mother was given as Mary Sullivan ,
formerly O'Hara, the father was Bernard Sullivan who was recorded as
residing in Larne. There doesn't seem to have been any Sullivans in Larne. I
need a closer connection before I can make any sort of link to the
O'Haras of Larne. the only other information I have is that I remember my
sister telling me about uncle George and Michael Sullivan from Belfast.
An aquainance in Larne told me that his father knew Michael Sullivan
well, he lived in Glenarm. The sponsors at my parents were Annie mcFaul
my father's sister and Michael Sullivan whoever he was.
