Hi Christy,
Henry Dugdale is listed on the Crimean medal rolls for the 5th Dragoon Guards. His regimental number was 736 and he was entitled to the medal with three clasps, Balaklava, Inkermann amd Sebastopol. He did serve at Balaklava, so it would appear that he took part in the charge of the Heavy Brigade on 25 Oct 1854, as all recipients for that clasp in the regt, are listed as being at the "action at Balaklava"
He would have enlisted around April-May 1841, so if he served his whole term of around 21-24 years he might have pension papers in the WO 97 series at the National Archive. If he bought his way out before or only served his initial 12 years it's doubtful if there will be documents for him. However, if he was invalided out and got a reduced pension there likely will be.
