I COULD very well have the regiment wrong. My info from the family is very sketchy- he would be the uncle of my great-grandfather Chileon Benjamin Johns, (the family called him C.B.). My father remembered C.B. insisting that the family go see the movie, "The Charge of the Light Brigade" because his father's brother had been in it.Dad also thought that the name used to be Yohns in Wales and they changed it to Johns over here.I'm sorry I don't have more - it's a real roadblock for me. Thank you for you help.They came from Swansea - but I wouldn't be surprised if alot of immigrants said that because it was a well-known area and maybe they really didn't. If you know what I mean.
