This doesn't surprise me too much - probably, if everyone who claims they were in the Charge, actually were, it may have been a complete victory! - a rout! Maybe he was a poor infantryman and was embarrassed to tell his family anything different, or he could have used a false name, or maybe I'm looking at a half-brother with a different name, by a first marriage? I may be getting back to you, after I've done some more digging. Thank you.
