Yes, My Saint Peter Austin was from the UK. I have 2 in my tree, the first born 1801 in Deptford, Kent, and his son also Saint Peter born 1834 in Shoreditch, London, and died in 1908.
I don't know which of them is the soldier I have found reference to, or even if he is connected to my tree, but as it is such an unusual name I have my fingers crossed! All I know is that a St Peter Austin is recorded as one of the men of the five regiments of the Light Cavalry brigade known to have embarked for active service in the Crimean War between 1854 and 1856.(private 1767 of the 11th Hussars)
