Thank you for the info. Even if the two lines aren't connected it's still interesting and one never knows what will be found down the road! As far as I know, there has not been any YDNA done. This testing appears to be a positive thing for the future of genealogy. I had thought about Kimmel but hadn't thought of Gimmel so I;m especially glad to have that brought to my attention. I figured there had to have been a change in spelling of some kind since Crimmel/Krimmel was practically impossible to find. Here in PA our family spelled it w/C but after my great-great-grandparents went to IL they used K. The few left in PA still spell it w/C. Thanks again for the interesting onfo.!
