This is just to tell you (if you are a beginner)that quite a bit is known about the Cripes. Clicking around the Internet will pay off. The original American immigrant was Jacob Greib. Probably all present day Gripes/Cripes etc. descend from him. I could tell you some places he lived in PA and MD. Lots of people know his children's names, spouses,grandchildren etc., where they lived and so on. Searching a little will yield a lot
