There is a Norman Cripe from Elkhart who could fit:

Andrew Cripe (son of John B. - Jacob - Jacob - Jacob (no misprint!)) lived in Elkhart from 1822 to 1906. He married Mary Magdalene Wyland in 1856. Their son Calvin married Ida Jane Gordy. They had 10 children, one of them being Norman E. Cripe, who thus really could be born around 1890, and his children around 1910.

Best regards
Steffen
