Allison,

Hello cousin! I was looking for information about our family, and found your posting. I think it is neat that you are intrested in our family history. We live in Missouri, but I was raised in Northern Indiana, close to South Bend, and so I think of that place as home. South Bend is in Saint Joseph county, which is close to Elkhart county where I have heard that our family was one of the first to break sod in the virgin prairie grass found there. In fact in South Bend is a Cripe cemetairy!! Another neat fact is that we are somehow related to Annie Oakly, a famous woman that was a great shot with a gun, and put on shows to make money doing very hard shots and amazing people. We have an amazing family, and I do not think that you will be disapointed in your search, but get ready to put in a lot of time as you look for information, but there are folks out here that are happy to help in your search.

Good luck, and feel free to email if you want.

Your distant cousin

Michael Cripe
