M/M Forrest Crissey anniversary, 1937, Geneva, Ill.
St. Charles (Kane County, Illinois) Chronicle, July 8, 1937. The Forrest Crisseys of Geneva Celebrate Golden Wed. July 14. Forrest Crissey, well known magazine writer, and his wife, Kate Shurtleff Crissey, will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary on Wednesday, July 14, at the home of their son, Paul Crissey, in Geneva.
Mr. and Mrs. Crissey were married in Marengo, July 14, 1887, after which they moved to Geneva, where Mr. Crissey became editor of the Geneva Patrol, a local weekly newspaper with prohibition tendencies. Four years later they moved to Chicago where Mr. Crissey worked on the editorial staff of many of the newspapers then operating. Later he became attached to the editorial staff of the Saturday Evening Post after which he became a contributing writer to that and other national magazines. For several years he has specialized in biographical writing.
The couple have one son, Paul Crissey, a grandson, Benjamin D. Crissey of Kansas City, Mo., and a great granddaughter, Carol Crissey, 3 years old, who also lives in Kansas City.
Open house and reception to which Mr. and Mrs. Crissey's many friends and relatives are cordially invited will be held in their honor on July 14th from 2 to 6 and 7 to 10 p.m. by Mr. and Mrs. Paul Crissey,at their residence, 221 Spring street, Geneva (Posted as a courtesy. I am not related.)
