I am looking for Martin CROCKER b: ca 1811, d: 1846 in either Eaton or Jackson Co. MI. He married the widow Elizabeth PARMETER / PALMETER about 1843. They had one son, Oramel M. CROCKER b: 1846. Oramel resided with Elizabeth and her husband David Bonfoey Bradford in 1850 and 1860. In 1870 he is living in Grinell, Powehiek, IA. But ater that I have found nothing more about him.
Elizabeth held the original deed to land purchased by her then husband Elijah PARMETER in 1841 in Jackson Co. Martin CROCKER paid the taxes on this land from 1844-47, then in 1848 it is paid by the "widow CROCKER." In 1849 the taxes are paid by her step-son Elijah PARMETER Jr. In 1850 they are paid by Elizabeth CROCKER. She remarries on 29 Jan 1850 in Eaton Co. to David B. BRADFORD, he pays the taxes from 1851-56 when the land is sold. Elizabeth (maiden name unknown) PARMETER CROCKER BRADFORD died 10 Mar 1864 near Eaton Rapids, Eaton Co., MI.
Would appreciate hearing from anyone who might have information on Martin CROCKER or his wife Elizabeth.
