G. Lehman,
Thanks for sharing your data - my parents have just moved to their retirement home and they are beginning to review all of the old family records that were in boxes (family Bible, property records, wills, etc.).My father sent me an original document in the mail that appears to be a loan from Silas to Benjamin for a very large sum of money.I will include the content in this message - please let me know what you think it means! As my parents share information with me, I will post it. Note that the spelling of Benjamine with an 'e' on the end is not a typo by me - nor are the grammar errors.
Regards,
Kevin

Benjamine Crofoot
Bond to
Silas Rushmore for
$1170"
From my memory of reading documents at my parent's house, I think they have a will from Silas Rushmore giving Benjamin's children all of his estate - maybe Silas wanted to document the loan to his son-in-law due to the large dollar value or tax advantage.
Note that all signatures are the same handwriting as the author of the document since this was a copy of the original.
