Sorry to say the Croll tree I have contains no Robert or Beedie. It begins with James Croll m. Jean Carnegy (Blackhall, Marykirk, Kincardineshire) - more than likely the same family as yours.

Children -
Jean b. 1808 m. -Buchan
John b. 1809 m. 3 times
Catherine b. 1812 unmar
James b. 1814 m. 1838 Janet Laird
Charles b. 1819 - son George
Mary Ann b. 1821 m - Jolly
Elizabeth b. 1825 m. - Grass
George b. 1827 - to Australia
Sarah b. 1830 m. - Fraser, to Toronto

James (see above) m. Janet Laird from North Berwick had the following children-

James b. 1839
*David b. 1840 m. Clementina Jane Melville
*William b. 1843
James b. 1845
John b. 1847
Janet b. 1849
Helen b. 1850
Catherine b. 1852
Janet Pringle b. 1856

David and William were born in London. All the others in Angus - the younger ones at Duntrune Mill.

Clementina Jane Melville was my grandfather's sister and born at Leys, Errol in Perthshire but grew up at the Barns of Wedderburn in Murroes Parish - close to Duntrune Mill.

Clementina and David Croll's son, David married his cousin Isabella Melville.

That's about as much as I can tell you about the Crolls.

Marie B.
