Hello Barbara. I'm not sure how much information you already have on Robert Cromar. A while ago, my cousin in Hawaii got in touch with the Ontario Genealogical Society, who supplied him with a lot of information on "your" Robert Cromar. I now have a copy of this, and shall happily pass it on, if you wish. If you're sure that he was born in 1814, then he'll be the son of Alexander Cromar and Ann Deans, b. in Watertown, Newhills, Aberdeenshire. In 1836, on emigration, he stated that he was latterly of Slains, Ellon, Aberdeenshire, aged 20. He was buried in Elora Municipal in the county of Wellington - ref. WW-4289.
I'd be happy to help you if I can.
Hilary (in Aberdeen)
