Another big thank you for the info you provided. I don't know why they came to Canada. There is another Cromar line, whom I call the Elora Cromars. Alexander Cromar (b. 1778 Scotland) and Ann Deans had seven children. Their son Robert and Elizabeth Day, both died in Elora, Ontario in 1892 and 1906. They had 10 children so maybe our Cromars are distant cousins? My grandfather Donald Cromar was born in Collingwood, Ontario which isn't to far from Elora. Grasping at straws ?
