I have lots of John C. Cromers, but none that directly link to your Caroline Hyler. I have two Hylers, though, so am trying to link through them. Samuel Curtis Hyler b. VA, d abt 1820 Richland, OH. mar. Margaret Bartholomew . Other husband Jacob Cromer d. 23Dec1855 Fairfield, OH.
Son of J. C. Hyler and Margaret Samuel Curtis Hyler b 5 Sep 1818 in Richland, OH.

Margaret Ref: Pat Carter.Margaret possible born in VA. Had two husbands. Is great-grandmother of Pat Carter.
Ref: Pat Carter. died at age 67 years 5 months 5 days. Buried in Pleasant Hill, OH methodist church.
Jacob came from VA to Richland & Fairfield County, OH in early 1820s.
Mr. Williams (who?) thinks Jacob's father is Martin Cromer. Martin had a son Jacob who left VA. Jacob showed up in Fairfield Co., OH about the same time as his brother-in-law Henry Eyman.
Estate record mentions wife Elizabeth (3rd wife), as well as:
Rine Carter and his wife Carolyn Cromer (dau of Jacob & Elizabeth)
Jessie Cromer & wife Maria in Fairfield Co., OH,
Daniel Kamp & wife Margaret Cromer
Henry Cromer, Eli Cromer, Mary Cromer, Catherine Cromer.
1st wife Margaret Bartholomew

I hope some of this helps.
