Alexander Cromer was the son of George Cromer and Jane Walker and was born in Lawrence Co, IN.

Some notes concerning George Cromer:

George came with his father, John, and stepmother to Kentucky in 1805 and was part of their household in the 1810 Census.

George and his wife, Jane Walker, appear on the 1820 Knox Co, KY Census in the section later to become Laurel Co. In 1822 they moved to Lawrence Co, IN and stayed there one year. In 1823 they moved to Harrison Co, IN, where they were joined by his father and stepmother and their family in 1829. All appear in the 1830 Harrison Co, IN Census. Between 1830-1840 George and his family moved to the adjoining Washington Co, IN, Posey Township. He is listed in the 1840 Census there. (see Our Fathers Before us by Jan Sparkman)

George Cromer was the son of John Cromer, b 22 Apr 1758 in Warwick Twp, Lancaster Co, PA, and Catherine Brubaker, b abt 1760 probably also in Lancaster Co, PA.

My Cromer line descends from John Cromer and his second wife, Sophia Whisman, through their son Joseph Cromer and wife, Mary Linville. This line was in Rockcastle Co, KY (adjoining Laurel Co, KY).
