I haven't done much genealogy work in a year or two, but here finally is a link to information I do have. I believe your grandfather is my great great uncle Daniel Cronley. My grandfather was evidently orphaned (actually not sure about this) and went to live with his uncle Daniel in Streator, Illinois. I have a 1903 public record from Streator reporting Daniel's death on Sept 27 from consumption, burial at St. Mary's Cemetery. The obituary lists a daughter Kate, presumably your mother. It staes his place of birth as Maryland. We probably should collaborate with Nancy White, who has a large body of information. I have a records search from LaSalle County (IL) Genealogical Society.
