This isn't directly a response to your post, but one inspired by it. I can give you some information about a more recent branch of Gen. Crook's family. My father was George Charles Crook III and was born and raised in Atmore, AL. (1931-2000). My oldest son is another George Crook--named for my father and my uncle--George Fuller Crook. We currently live in Ruston, LA.

I just stumbled across this site. Looking forward to reading and learning more.
