  of 1850

The family name has changed a few times. Crooke, Crook, Crooks and Cook. My Great Grandfather was Henry Crooke from Bronxville, NY Henry was married to Margaret Fruin their children were Margaret, Harry, Robert (my Grandfather who changed the name to Cook) Arnold, Herbert ( who lost a leg in World War one, Herbert was Vice-President of General Motors Finance in New York City at the G. M. building until his death in 1936) My Great Grandfather Henry was the first Motorman on the New York Subway system when it opened in 1904. According to family scuttlebutt we are related to General George Crook and Richard Crooks the late Opera singer. My Father was Charles J Cook (born 1904 Crooke) who was the Town of Cortlandt Supervisor and Vice Chairman of the board of Supervisors from 1956-1969 in Westchester County, New York. Anyone who has info on the family e-mail me at E7031163@aol.com
