Major William White Crook, Morgan Co. MO
Posted by: Valerie Mullally (ID *****8827) Date: July 05, 2011 at 17:36:08
  of 1850

Major William White Crook, my great great grandfather was a founding father of Versailles, MO. He has a monument in the city cemetery dedicated to him for donating the land for the cemetery.
His daughter Lucy is my great grandmother. She married Taylor McDaniel and moved to Galena, KS
Major Crook was in the mercantile business with William J. Tooley.
He lived close to the Chisms.
He married Ann M. Davis and had John D., Elizabeth (buried next to her father) Lucy, Ney, Grace.
If anyone knows anything about the Majors parents it would be appreciated.
As well as Ann M. Davis. What happened to her after 1 862 when the Major died.
How did he get the rank Major?
Thanks Valerie
