Here is what I know about the Crows.

My father was adopted in 1955 by an Earl Austin Crow Jr. who was born in Alabama in 1919 and died in Oak Ridge, TN in 1983. Earl was the son of Earl Austin Crow born in 1891 in Alabama. According to his WWI Draft registration card, he lived in Jefferson County, AL. Earl was the son of James Madison Crow who was born in 1833 in St Claire County Alabama. James' wife was Susannah Bridges. James' father was Wesley M Crow born in 1798 in Chatham, North Carolina. He died in 1834 in Chatham, NC.

From what I understand, this lineage traces all the way back to Maryland where a John and Anne Crowe came in 1666 from London.
