Actually, the census I have was for 1880 in St. Mary Parish, La. He is listed as living with U.B. Carlin and as a son-in-law. He was married to Aimee Edmonia Carlin, daughter of Delfort Carlin who was married to Noemie Provost. He was a sugar farmer. One of his sons, Allison Cruce, was my grandfather. I am looking for parents of James and for his year of birth. I have been told that he shot himself in about 1931 in Orange, Tx. I have been to City Hall as the residence he shot himself at was in the city limits and they have no info on him. They suggested I try Beaumont. I am going to go there the first day I can get off of work.
