Tracy,
I don't recall where I found the information, but I have found that the Cruce family had several different spelling of the family name. When in France they spelled it differently than when in England. It appears that as the family relocated to the various countries, they changed the spelling of the name to match their surroundings; thus giving us the Americanized Cruce. I found that in England they spelled it deCruise as well as deCruice. The only suggestion I have is just keep searching the various Eurpoean websites. I can definitely tell you that the Cruce's are European.
