Hello Deb, Although I know relatively little about William's family with Cora (didn't know her family was Lovejoy), I do know a bit about his parents and grandparents. William Marvin "Will" Cruce was the seventh child born to John Wesley Cruce and Amanda Jones and was born on April 1, 1886. John Wesley Cruce was born in Tennessee on December 6, 1848 and married Amanda E. Jones. It will take me a while to get all of the information together on your line as it is a bit different than mine, but briefly I will tell you that John Wesley Cruce was the fifth child of Marsena Hamson Cruce (b. 5/14/1813 d. 2/23/1864) and his wife Roda Valentine (b. 4/26/1822 d. 1/22/1865). Marsena Hamson Cruce was the first of eight children born to Isaac Newton Cruce, Jr. (b. 1792 d. 1860), and Martha Miller (b. 4/17/1791 d. 5/19/1854). Isaac Newton Cruce, Jr.'s father was Isaac Newton Cruce, Sr. born ion Belfast Ireland and christened on July 29, 1756 (St. Annes Episcopal Registry, Belfast Ireland. He served in the Revolutionary War in the South Carolina Militia under Col. Roebuck after the fall of Charleston and lived in Spartanburgh and Greenville Counties, South Carolina. He married, ca 1783 in South Carolina, Jane (?Brown) and died in Caldwell County, KY. Notify Administrator about this message?
