Hello maybe I can help you find your family, I am from Stephen Albert Cruce died in Ga.--family, his father was Richard Cruce died in S.C.(Cruce,Crucie, Cruse, Cruse different spellings),His father was Richard Cruce, .Richard Cruce family came to America from Belfast Ireland abt 1771-73 to South Carolina. Spartanburgh and Union were created from old 96th District SC South Caroline was old North Caroline-Spartburgh about 1764-1772 was in North Caroline, so some Cruce children were born here,but some are listed as South Carolina, same places.Border changes before abt.1878-1840 are messey.Wills and Abstracts, Wills were sometimes handled in Spartanburgh Co.,S.C. . Charleston was the hub of things, so dig in these places. What part of Texas? some Cruce famlies migrated to Red River Tx., Erath Hood, Somerville Tx.,Parker Co.Palo Co,other places in Tx.Look at Library see if you can find book by the late Priscilla Johnson Montgomery, published 1994, OUTLINE OF CRUCE ,dig ito this book, it has pages of references and family names, pictures, history of Cruces families. hope this helps. will look more,Margaret Morton.
